Neighborhood just miles from Lindsey's house
Mommy and I went to Nana's house during the storm. Daddy had to work. It was fun at first. Then the lights went out (around 11:30 AM Monday) when the winds got strong. Nana's house is still without lights. Luckily, we were able to come home and watch movies Tuesday morning. (Power only blinked at our house)
Mommy Note: And for friends out of town, here are some of the goings on in town right now. Lindsey has had a cold and so have I that have turned into infections. I got to take her to the pediatrician and found one pharmacy that was open on generator power (Central Pharmacy). Click on the pictures to see them bigger. Lines are long for gas and groceries *if* you can find a place with gas or groceries. Most people are still without power and could be for weeks. I saw a place selling generators and there was a line of people about a block long outside the door. Today the Comite has overflowed the river banks and they had to close Greenwell Springs road.
Broadmoor and Lake at White Oak neighborhoods were hard hit - mainly by trees. One of the pictures below is a house next to my parents house. They predict my parents will have electricity by Monday Sept 8th.
