Products / Livesavers!

I just thought I'd share some wonderful products and solutions with everyone that has babies or toddlers. Lindsey has had colic and gas issues, milk allergies, skin allergies, eye and ear infections (tubes), reflux/GERD, and has pretty much outsmarted us with every new developmental stage we've reached.

Gas and Colic
1. Little Tummys Gripe Water http://www.littleremedies.com/things_colic.html
2. Wedge Sleep Positioner (infant)
3. Gas Drops as often as possible

Milk Allergies
1. Try Enfamil Gentlease formula (infant) http://www.enfamil.com/
2. Silk Soy Plain (toddler) http://www.silksoymilk.com/
3. Silk Soy Plain Reduced Fat (toddler)
Note: Soy yogurt is nasty. I allow Lindsey to have one regular Yo Baby yogurt a day for the probiotics (especially since we are antibiotics for ear infections several times a year). http://www.stonyfield.com/

Skin Allergies / Diaper Rashes / Eczema
1. Dreft (infant) - expensive but used it until recently
2. Tide (Clear and Free of Fragrance) - switched everyone to same detergent to save money
3. Puraderm - found this detergent and shampoo online and it's great just can't find it in stores www.puraderm.com - samples are free
4. Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Wipes
5. Dr Smith Diaper Cream - http://www.doctorsmith.com/diaper.htm - beats Boudreauxs - may be behind the pharmacy counter in drugstores
6. Aveeno Baby Creamy Wash and Baby Shampoo - I started off using Johnsons but the fragrance was too much for Lindsey's skin. The Creamy Wash really helps reduce the redness on her cheeks. http://www.aveeno.com/
7. Luvs Diapers - Huggies seemed to give rashes easier for whatever reason
8. Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Pullups - Regular Pullups give Lindsey Chronic Diaper Rashes

Reflux / GERD
1. Bed at angle and a bed wedge - Safe Lift Deluxe Universal Crib Wedge from Target
2. Rx Prevacid daily disolved in small amount of soy milk
3. Limit dairy and overeating completely or at least close to bedtime

Eye and Ear Infections
1. Get Rx for eyedrops and keep it. Drops are good for awhile as long as you don't contaminate them.
2. Ear Infections - get tubes as soon as it is recommended by your ENT - I fully believe in them now eventhough some other people may tell you otherwise.
3. Molded Ear Plugs - pay the $50 and get the specially molded ear plugs from your ENT
4. Acidophilus capsules - open capsule and mix in foods. it's tasteless and odorless and helps tummies on antibiotics (also Yobaby Yogurt has acidophilus in it)
