Lindsey's Baptism

Lindsey was baptized today at St Alphonsus church near our home. We had our own pew in the front of the church!

Nana, Aunt Irene, Sarah, and Barbara and Andy came along as well. Barbara is now Lindsey's Godmother. Lindsey is very pleased with this! She gives it a thumbs up.

Despite all the anxiety dreams and fears that Lindsey would run screaming down the aisle of the church after hurling a shoe at the priest, it turned out to be a very nice ceremony. I was wishing so badly for a private ceremony but somehow having the audience there during mass actually seemed to have helped calm Lindsey down. I think she believed she was on stage. I guess in a way she was. She liked watching the other three little babies get baptized. I don't think she expected us to be tilting her back over the bowl to pour water down the back of her head, but ya know she did not scream out or kick anyone. This is sort of a miracle in and of itself as my daughter barely lets me wash her hair and must have a towel to wipe her face if water gets in her eyes.

After six months of preparation, we made it. Lindsey did so well. I'm so proud of her. Special thanks to Barbara, Andy, and Irene for traveling from Texas for the event.

Our video of the baptism is on facebook too.
