We visited Port Hudson Park. I know, I'd never heard of it either. But it ended up being pretty interesting. There are trails and a museum with the history of the battle at Fort Port Hudson during the Civil War. There was a nice recreation of a lookout tower, which we all climbed. There was a machine that you could type your last name into and it would tell you if people served there with the same last name. No DeLaGarzas. Some Cravens. Lots of Baileys (Chad's mom's maiden name). Apparently the Union baracaded the stubborn South in at the Fort and they nearly all starved to death before surrendering. This explains alot about how the North won - we do love to eat.
