Day of Caring 2009

This year we worked at O'Brien House downtown. We had around 45 volunteers show up from Albemarle and O'Brien House. We had several projects: landscaping, a stepstone walkway, painting, and a large deck. We had a TV station come out to video and a photographer there too. The weather was great until about 2 PM there was a warning of a tornado only a couple of miles away. As I warned everyone, the rain started and the wind came and we barely made it inside before the storm. Luckily we did not experience anything but rain where we were at.
